Priced by labels rendered

Thirty-eight of the forty-two checks read the ZPL and cost a parse, so they are not metered. Rendering a label is the one thing here with a real per-request cost, so that is the thing you pay for. The web tool stays free and needs no account.

Self-hosted

From $199/month, published. The whole engine — all 43 checks, the renderer, the API, regression suites — in containers you run. No label ever leaves your network, and neither does anything else: it never contacts us, not even to check your licence. Your licence is a signed file verified against a key inside the image, so there is no activation call and no phone-home. It runs air-gapped, which we test by running it that way.

Delivered as a signed offline bundle you install with docker load — no registry access needed, because the networks that need this edition most are usually the ones that cannot reach a registry. There is no checkout for it yet; get in touch and we will send the bundle and a licence.

Things worth knowing before you pick one

A check is not a render.
Send render: false and you get 39 of the 43 checks for no render quota at all. The four that need pixels are the geometry rules — quiet zones and overlap.
The free tier has no monthly quota to run out of.
It is limited per minute rather than per month, so the web tool cannot go dark on you halfway through a bad afternoon at a pack bench.
Nothing here stores your labels by default.
Sharing a permalink does, and says so before you click. So does sending us a label that failed in the real world. Everything else is checked in memory and forgotten.
Printing is priced per printer, not per label.
Send as many labels as you like — the number does not change the bill. Print volume spikes in the week before Christmas, and a per-label price would hand you your biggest invoice in the month you have least time to argue about one. You pay for pack benches, which is the number you already know.
Regression suites are the reason to be on Team.
They answer a question no CI system can: not “did my template change”, but “did the rules change underneath it”. They run on their own, hourly or daily, and send a signed webhook when something changes — so you find out from us rather than from a scanner.

You do not have to decide yet

The free tool is the same engine. Paste a label and see whether it tells you anything you did not know.
